Paediatric First Aid (2 Days)Target Group(s): All Early Years Practitioners
Course Aims : To develop practitioners knowledge and understanding of the aims and principles of being a First Aider
It is an Ofsted requirement that all registered childminders and assistants who are left in sole care of children complete a relevant 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course every 3 years - if you have not booked another course before the 3 years run out you are in breach of the EYFS Statutory Framework and Childcare registration requirements and MUST notify Ofsted.
ON THE DAY
Our First Aid course offers a practical, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation. On successful completion of this course, you will receive a paediatric first aid certificate which is valid for three years.
The two day course runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm each day. You must arrive before 9.30am on both dates - anyone arriving late will not be allowed to join the course and will have to re-book. You will need to bring your own lunch and snacks, Tea and Coffee will be provided.
Learners must attend both sessions to pass the course, assessments are carried out by observation and questioning throughout the two days and a multiple choice test at the end of each day. Learners must be physically able to participate and will need to be willing to practice their skills on each other and the practice dolls (eg bandaging).
